Condition B+: multiple sharp horizontal creases through image; repaired tear at lower left corner, into image. Matted and framed. Unexamined out of frame.
One of a pair of panels known as Heather and Sea Holly, although their official titles are "Sea Holly of the Beach and Heather of the Cliffs . . . Mucha himself, according to his son Jirí, always referred to the pictures as 'la Bretonne' and 'la Normande' . . . as both the plants and the costumes worn by the ladies are representative of two ancient seacoast provinces of Northwestern France, Brittany and Normandy" (Rennert / Weill p. 290).
